भोई भारत की एक प्राचीन जाति है। यह एक आखेटक जाति है जिसका उल्लेख महाभारत और रामायणजैसे भारत के प्राचीनतम महाकाव्यों में मिलता है। भोई समाज हिन्दू धर्म के अंग है। वर्णाश्रम व्यवस्था में वे शूद्र माने जाते रहे हैं। ये आदिकाल से जल जंगल और ज़मीन पर आश्रित होकर अपना जीवन यापन प्राकृतिक संसाधनों की सहायता से करते चले आ रहे हैं।महाभारत के भिष्म पितामह की दुसरी माता सत्यवती एक धीवर(निषाद)पुत्री थी और रामायण मे प्रभु श्रीरामचंद्र और केवट के संवाद का वर्णन है इस बात से यह साबीत होता हे की भोई एक आदिम जाती है
यह जनजाति मेघालय के पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में पायी जाती है भोई' भारत की एक प्राचीन क्षत्रिय जाती है, जिसका उल्लेेख महाभारत और रामायण जैसे भारत के प्राचीनतम महाकाव्यों में मिलता है। भोई जनजाति अनेक जातियों में विभाजित है। इसकी कई शाखाएँ है राजगोंड भोई, राज भोई, झिंगा भोई तथा परदेशी भोई ऐसी अनेक जातियाँ इस वर्ग में है। इनके साम्राज्य का वर्णन 'ओरिसा' में स्थित प्रदेशों था। जिसका वर्णन ओरिसा के इतिहास में पाया जाता है। यह क्षत्रिय वंश के है। ये लोग चंद्र की पूजा करते है।
